Thalo Financial

Thalo Financial was a payment bridge platform for insurance, working much like PayPal did at the time. It provided a unified interface for initiating and tracking payments, abstracting the complexity of the underlying payment flows behind a clean web experience. The site in the gallery presents it in Spanish, with an English version, an agents' login and a downloadable quoting tool, and lists its core service as collecting insurance premiums online, with multiple payment options.

It was one of my first full-stack projects, built in 2018 as a Full-Stack Developer during my first stage of production work in Venezuela.

While live, the platform was primarily adopted by Seguros Caracas de Liberty Mutual, one of the largest insurance companies in Venezuela, which used it to process policy-related payments. Handling real financial transactions for an enterprise client this early in my career pushed me to think seriously about reliability, data integrity, and the weight of writing code that people depend on.

The stack was intentionally lean: Ruby on Rails handled the full backend and server-rendered views, with vanilla JavaScript layered in for interactivity and plain CSS for styling. No frameworks, just fundamentals.

The platform is no longer running, and the project is deprecated.
